Have you ever been wondering what to ask when you are on campus tours? The Choice (NYT blog) interviewed Martha C. Merrill, the dean of admission and financial aid at Connecticut College who gives us very practical and helpful tips on "what (not) to ask on a campus tour." (see more at: http://thechoice.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/03/13/what-not-to-ask-on-a-campus-tour/?ref=education) She suggests students (not) ask the tour guides the following questions:

1) Ask why your guide decided to attend the college you are visiting.

2) Ask about a favorite class

3) Ask your guide about an interesting conversation with friends.

4) Ask about a typical weekday.

5) Go ahead and ask about the food.

6) Don't ask for your guide's SAT Scores or high school GPA

7) Don't ask your guide to predict how much financial aid you might receive

8) Parents: Don't ask questions that divulge personal information about your students

9) Don't try to persuade your tour guide to admit you

10) Keep in mind that your tour guide is presenting just one student's perspective.

I hope you will enjoy and get the most out of your campus tours!
