Legal Definition of a Guardian

In the case that a child is absent of parents or their parents are deemed unable to perform such duties for various reasons, a guardian is someone legally appointed to take care and educate a child, and perform the role of the missing parent.

A guardian is someone contracted to manage a child’s academic progress, lifestyle, activities, admission into various programs and institutions, etc, by request of their parents.
