Columbia welcomed its class of 2018 on Thursday. The admit rate for this year’s class was 6.94 percent, up from 6.89 percent last year. 2,291 students were admitted from an applicant pool of 32,952.

Jessica Marinaccio, dean of undergraduate admissions and financial aid for Columbia College and the School of Engineering and Applied Science, donned Columbia blue to mail admission decisions to those who applied for regular decision on Thursday afternoon. She was joined by CC Dean James Valentini and SEAS Dean Mary Boyce. Early decision acceptance letters were mailed out on Dec. 12.

Applicants will be able to check their decision at 5 p.m. tonight on the admissions’ website.

In February, Marinaccio announced that 32,952 students applied for CC and SEAS this year—the third largest applicant pool in Columbia history.

Barnard released its admission decisions via email last night at 7 p.m.
